New Zealander Paul Radisich and Australia Paul Morris are back on the track at this years AMP Bathurst 1000. Last years race turned to custard for Morris after he took pole in the top ten shot out and team mate Baird took a line honours win in the race for BMW Motorsport Australia. Disappointment followed as the pair were disqualified on a technical infringement.
The real irony is that the Morris is now set to drive for the Audi Team, BMW's chief rivals last year. Morris returns from a season in the United States campaigning in the Indy Lights Championship.
Suzuki, who have never had an outing at the Bathurst 1000 are set to make their debut in a New Zealand S Schedule car. Grant Aitken who has campaigned the Suzuki Baleno in the NZTC and NZRDC Championship is looking forward to running in the endurance event. Although lacking some of the power of the BMWs, Toyotas and Fords, the Baleno has been very reliable and Grant is confident the car will still be circulating at the end of the race.
