Summary

Jason Richards in the International Motorsport BMW 320i had two races in hand as he sealed his barnstorming Summer Championship in fickle weather conditions that varied between bright sunshine and thunderstorms with driving rain. It was a deserving title for Richards who was clearly in control of both car and track throughout the series.

Qualifying
Session started at 10.45 am (Maximum 15 minutes)

Weather conditions at Pukekohe were humid with intermittent showers. Once again it was Jason Richards in the BMW 320i that set the standard, convincingly outpacing the field to give himself his fourth pole position in as many qualifying session. His new team mate Peter Schumach benefited from more time in the car and secured second position. The Telstars built on their performances at Manfield to put them onthe second row of the grid. Ted Jarvis has been joined by Tony Rutherford in another Toyota Corolla. Jarvis came under pressure from Rutherford and the racing is expected to be close in the 1600cc Class.
