Peter spent his early years rallying, collecting various hillclimb and rallysprint records. His first taste of circuit racing came in 1991 when he raced a Mazda RX7 in the Transam Class. In 1992 he teamed up with NZ Motor Racing legends Kenny Smith and the late Roger Freeth to form the CRC Ford Dealer Team. After Roger's tragic death Peter switched to a Holden Commodore, taking a 1st at Wigram and numerous 2nd and 3rd places. In 1994 with the help of Nissan NZ and Reg Cook, Peter built a Nissan Sentra SSS. The car proved its potential and in 1995 Nissan NZ decided to support a two car team, Peter teaming up with David (Bart) Simpson. His most memorable moment came in 1996 when he outpaced Craig Baird and Brett Riley in the wet at Manfeild to take the race. He repeated the effort at Timaru to give him his best Touring Car Season to finish 1st Privateer and 3rd overall. Peter is currently preparing a Nissan Primera for competition.
