Though he has raced everything from Pre '65 Saloons to Rally Cross and HQ Holdens, Angus is best known for his mastery of the mighty Mini. He is a race car engineer by profession and this is reflected in his ability to get the best out of any class of car he campaigns. He has driven the mini in Mini Seven, SuperMini and Mini Miglia (U.K.) configurations. Career highlights include being the New Zealand Mini 7 Champion in the 1996/97 and 1997/98 seasons. With over 40 career pole positions, he is also the first and only driver to record a time under 1 minute 10 seconds (1.09.42 sec) around New Zealand's fastest race circuit, Pukekohe. Success in the Nissan GT Cup Endurance races encouraged Angus to step up to the N.Z. Touring Cars Championship in 1995 as a privateer. To build on his racing experience Angus raced in the United Kingdom's 1998 Vectra Challenge Scholarship, reaching the finals of this prestigious series. In 1999/2000 Angus entered a Schedule S Nissan Bluebird in the New Zealand Touring Car Championship and is again at the sharp end of a highly competitive field.
